Kerri Chandler, New Jersey, USA.
Kerri Chandler, hails from the small community of East Orange, New Jersey, USA.! At the age of 32 years old, Kerri started playing and messing around behind decks since he was 9 years old. He went onto producing tracks when he reached the mature old age of 15. His neighbourhood allowed him build good relationships which for many of us would seem like a dream come true just to meet them. Producers such as Kenny Carpenter, David Camacho, Tony Humphries and Michael Watford
Due to his unique yet successful. Sound his work load has become enormous, having spent time remixing for labels such as East and West, RCA, BMG, Movin, King Street, Nite Grooves, Strictly Rhythm, Warner Brothers, Madhouse, etc
And yet despite all of his work that he has done in collaboration with the major labels, he has keep a loving arm around the "Underground" , as he sees it as he main inspiration in continuing to do this style of music. It is his policy to pick projects with the utmost scrutiny, never compromising his ideal of what it is he feels his work should convey.
How else could one explain his decision to remix" Strike it Up", bt Black Box, but rejecting projects from ARTISTS such as Enigma and Michael Jackson!!!!
Kerri's purist vision stems we find from his father who was a big Disco DJ in his hey day, taking Kerri to all the major clubs in Town. It wasn't too long before he was to become a resident within clubs in New Jersey, via the skills that he had picked up
"I learned from him about mixing. While I was resident at America in New Jersey, I'd play stuff I'd put together. Then I had this Indie label, Express Records, I put some of them out for the other DJ's to play, they did so on Radio, and then "bang", all the majors picked up all of the tracks. Then the other labels began to habe interest in me."

Tony Humphries has entertained dance music fans across the globe with his ?Hump-in-the-Homefries? brand of uptempo soul music. This Brooklyn, New York native landed his first ?professional? DJ gig at Manhattan?s posh Club El Morocco in 1975. From there Tony?s trek to Boystown a.k.a. Club Tribeca NY, NY would prove successful, where he was then recognized as a talented DJ.
In July 1981, producer Shep Pettibone asked Tony for a mastermix show tape to fill in for a no show on his KISS-FM NY radio show. A vacancy left by Pettibone at the station opened the door for his own permanent mix show. Simultaneously, schooled under the ?I?ll-leave-you-in-the-booth-and-see-what-happens? antics of resident DJ Larry Patterson of NJ?s Club Zanzibar fame, resulted in him gaining ?THE? residency in 1982.
Developing his creative experiences behind the recording studio?s control board only enhanced his style and magic. Artists like Mtume (Tonys? first gold record ?Juicy Fruit?), Chaka Khan, Karen White, Regina Belle, Donna Summer, Jungle Brothers, Queen Latifah, and The Cover Girls were all governed by the ?Humphries handicraft?.
By the mid to late 80?s, Tony became the sole helmsman weaving the tunes three nights a week, thus making dance music superstars out of local talent embedded in the heartland of Newark and her surrounding areas. Summoned across the Atlantic by the British in 1987. The ?Jersey Sound? was coined by their press. In addition to traveling, remix projects mounting, pumping out a weekly radio mix show, and holding down the fort at the club, Tony was in his prime making the world of dance music exciting, hip, and refreshing.
By November 1990, his 8 year tenure ended with a tearful refrain, but this didn?t discourage Tony as he became in demand worldwide and relocated to London, England. In January of 1993, Tony took up the offer to be the resident jock at the Ministry of Sound club. That year was rounded off with a residency at ?Echoes? in Rimini, Italy. This Italian residency continued for 4 years while simultaneously relocating back in NJ to launch his Yellorange Production Co.
It can be said that Tony Humphries has left an unerasable impression on the global dance music industry. To date over 300 venues he has gigged worldwide, done over 200 studio remixes, the latest being Janet Jackson?s hit ?Together Again?. Throughout tremendous recognition, tons of awards and accolades from his peers, he has remained humble.
Yes indeed, the man...
the music...
the legend, Tony Humphries.

Known for his powerful falsetto, inspirational lyrics, and profoundly spiritual nature, Kenny Bobien has made a career out of saving souls on the underground music scene and well beyond. A singer since the age of 3, Kenny's professional career started at eighteen and has earned this successful vocalist, producer and songwriter (he writes nearly everything he sings), a place on the rolodexes of some of the industry's biggest acts. With an appearance on Soul Train, the release of his R&B classic "You Are My Friend" (1992), and his collaborations with such diverse artists as Barbara Tucker, Celine Dion and Lauryn Hill, Bobien knows that he is truly 'blessed.'
In the new millennium Kenny has plenty to be thankful for: his wife/manager, Stephanie Cook, his album deal with Soundmen On Wax, and his proudest achievement son, Stephen Kenneth Oneal Bobien. He's fresh from a successful tour of Japan and on the eve of the domestic release of his premiere solo album, Blessed. Kenny took time out to share what keeps him centered, humble and grateful for each additional day he can make music

Danny Krivit
Raised in Greenwich Village, NYC, Danny was born into a musical family, with jazz music the labour of love. Whilst working in his parents night-spot, ?The Ninth Circle?, Danny was introduced to influential figures on the scene (Hendrix, Lennon & Ono, Janis Joplin). With such a wealth of talent surrounding him, it was no surprise that Danny spent most of the 1970?s spinning the hot records of the time in the family owned club.
A network of DJs and producers grew as the underground culture embraced the musical scene. David Mancuso (The Loft), Nicky Siano (The Gallery), Walter Gibbons (Galaxy 21) joined ground breaking DJs Larry Levan and Francois K in the new revolution.
Danny Krivit would spend his time at the Paradise Garage, avidly roller-skating round the dancefloor as Levan span the latest platters. Krivit?s DJ career meanwhile grew steadily to encompass influential clubs such as The Roxy, Danceateria, The Limelite, Save The Robots and many many more.
Naturally, the joy of spinning records in night-spots gave Danny a craving to enter the recording studio, spending the liberating 80?s era working on tracks featuring James Brown, Gloria Gaynor and Visage and a whole host of others. Danny has since gone on to edit, produce and mix a plethora of material that puts his status as studio technician firmly at the top of the pile.
In 1996, Danny teamed up with long time associates and Body & Soul founders, Fran?ois K and Joe Claussell. Danny has since spun every Sunday at this revered NYC party and has helped his reputation grow in overseas territories such as Japan and England, representing Body & Soul on 2 special occasions.

Fran?ois K. was born and raised in France, moving to New York in 1975 to pursue a career as a drummer. He played in various R&B cover bands and was hired by the Galaxy 21 disco to drum along with the DJ's records. This led to a strong interest in the nascent disco sound. Fran?ois started DJing around New York, playing clubs such as Experiment 4 (along with John "Jellybean" Benitez), JJ Knickerbocker, the Flamingo, and New York New York.
Around the same time, Fran?ois discovered studio editing and mixing. He created a series of disco medleys and re-edits (many of which are still available as bootlegs), and in 1978 landed an A&R job at Prelude Records, a small but rapidly expanding independent disco label. One of his first accomplishments at Prelude was remixing Musique's "Push Push In The Bush," a massive disco hit which sold nearly a million copies. He went on to remix and/or edit the majority of Prelude releases, including such club classics as D Train's "Keep On", "Body Music" by The Strikers as well as signing seminal tracks which helped define the dance music aesthetic, like "Double Journey" by Powerline or "Disco Circus" by Martin Circus.
Meanwhile, Fran?ois continued his DJ work, spinning at legendary clubs such as Studio 54, Les Mouches, Better Days, Buttermilk Bottom, The Loft, AM/PM, Bond's, Zanzibar, and Paradise Garage, filling in for resident Garage jock Larry Levan. He also started collaborating with Levan (a major remixer in his own right) on studio work, and soon became so busy behind the console that he decided to stop DJing in 1983.
By the mid-eighties, Fran?ois had become an in-demand top remixer and producer on both sides of the Atlantic. He quit Prelude in 1982 and started Axis Productions, working with many new wave acts such as Yazoo and Wide Boy Awake, as well as U2, Kraftwerk, Thomas Dolby, The Cure, Eurythmics, Ashford and Simpson, Mick Jagger, Diana Ross, Dinosaur L, and many others. He has as well mixed albums for Rebecca (Japan), Depeche Mode and Erasure.
In 1987, he opened Axis Studios, which quickly became a major recording and mixing facility. Notable Axis clients include Madonna, Todd Terry, C&C Music Factory, Mariah Carey, Teddy Riley, Mary J. Blige, Deee-Lite, and many others.
Fran?ois has since returned to DJ'ing , playing various guest spots in New York City at The Sound Factory Bar, House Nation, Afterlife, Roxy, Vinyl and Twilo. He has also played in the U.K. at Ministry of Sound, The End, Bar Rhumba, Back To Basics, The Blue Note and Hard Times, in Italy at Angels Of Love, Cocorico and Red Zone, and in Japan at Club Yellow, Gold, Precious Hall, Red Hot, and various clubs. Fran?ois now has his own New York residency every Sunday afternoon at Body&Soul, a party which has already grown to legendary status since it's beginning in 1996. Fran?ois, along with DJ's Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell and Danny Krivit, spins a soulful mix of everything from jazzy house to drum'n'bass. Body&Soul has established a faithful eclectic following and has allowed him to experiment and develop his own musical vision.
In 1994, Fran?ois established Wave Music a fully independent record label. Wave Music was created out of a need for a label with initiative to turn out lasting music with substance as well as style. It is with this mentality that Wave has established extraordinary national and international success with it's eclectic catalog of soulful music. From the jazzy vibe of Abstract Truth's "Get Another Plan", to the explosive #1 Billboard Dance Chart hit "Din Da Da" by club sensation Kevin Aviance, Wave places no boundaries on expression.
Along with a steady flow of new releases, he has managed to find time to record some of his own music, such as the acclaimed FK-EP , followed by "Time & Space", as well as "Capricorn" with more to come out in 2001.
As if this wasn't enough, he is still very much in demand as remixer today, working recently on material for the likes of Cesaria Evora, Moloko, Ame Strong, Talvin Singh, Underworld, Juan Atkins, Rinocerose, B 52's, Bent, Gloria Estefan, Big Muff and others.

As a DJ, remixer, producer and co-owner of Def Mix Productions (one of the world's most successful dance music production companies) David Morales has made a mark all his own. David hails from the streets of Brooklyn which influences his unique style behind the DJ booth as well as in the studio, a style that brings guts and accessibility to music.
David Morales, aka 'The Face' will be re-releasing his massive hit single 'Needin' You' on Manifesto in January next year. The track has been given a vocal treatmet by Juliet Roberts. 'Needin' You' reached No.8 in the UK charts when it was released originally on Manifesto last year.

Those mixes were called "Red Zone mixes" and led Morales to become a legend in the underground. In 1991, Morales produced his own record David Morales And The Bad Yard Club "The Program" which was released on Mercury Records in 1993. He continues to spin records at major clubs around the world as well as mixing his own Saturday night program, called "Morales At Midnight", on New York's #1 Dance Radio station WKTU. It was DJing that gave 36-year-old Dimitri his start more than a decade ago, when the European radio station CFM hired him to mix records on the air. Because of what he describes as a lack of dance remixers in France, his career in radio led to his being asked to rework tracks for various artists, among them Bj?rk, New Order, and the Brand New Heavies. Along the way he was hired by chic fashion designers like Chanel, Gaultier, and Lagerfeld to put together soundtracks for runway shows and boutiques.
"What happened was that I started DJing and then there were more and more tools -- technical tools -- available to us DJs that would allow us to make more creative things and eventually to make our own music without actually knowing how to play a particular instrument. With the advent of samplers and other machines at a budget that made them accessible in the mid '80s, we started making our own tracks. I was also learning the process of how a track is constructed by doing remixes for people. Finally, I was able to produce my own tracks."

Matthias Heilbronn began DJing in 1981, at age fifteen, in Bremen, Germany. In 1986, at the age of twenty, during his first visit to New York, some friends took him to the legendary Paradise Garage. "I fell in love that night," remembers Matthias. "It completely changed my life, hearing how and what Larry was playing - and how the crowd reacted to it"!
1989, on his third trip to New York, he was offered an internship by Fran?ois Kevorkian at Axis Studios, and a place to stay by Frankie Knuckles. It was then that he decided to make New York his home and became one of New York's most in demand editors and programmers; working with producers such as Danny Tenaglia, Todd Terry, Tommy Musto, C&C Music Factory and Fran?ois K. himself.
In 1994, he started writing and producing some of the biggest Garage tracks of the time under the name Deep Zone Productions with his partner Mike Delgado. Together they wrote and produced Carolyn Harding's " I Am What I Am", "It's Gonna Be Alright" feat. Vocals by Ceybil Jeffries, "Music Takes Me Higher" by Lift and "Live in Unity" by Dangerous Minds. They also remixed for artists, such as Soul II Soul, Randy Crawford and Crystal Waters. In 1997, his partnership with Delgado dissolved, and for a short time, he began working with his friend Mousse T., producing and remixing for Peppermint Jam Productions. His remixes on Peppermint Jam Productions gave him huge recognition on the European dance charts.
Today, Matthias is known for his productions and remixes that he crafted under his second production company, II Deep Productions, which he started in 1998. He continues to work closely with Fran?ois Kevorkian co-remixing projects, and producing and remixing for Fran?ois' label, Wave Music. His remixes of Abstract Truth's "We Had A Thing", and Blue 6's, "Sweeter Love" have established themselves as house anthems. In the year 2000, Matthias has remixed tracks of major - label artists Anastacia, Kina and Everything But The Girl. He also has remixed and produced for independent labels, such as, Masters At Work, Chez Music, Rampage, 83 West and Suburban. His compilation, "Selections?by Matthias "Matty" Heilbronn" was released on NCP Productions and has earned international praise.
Matthias also devotes a good deal of his time co-remixing tracks by artists such as, Moloko, Afro Mudusa, James Ingram, Martha Wash, and Cher with Todd Terry. Last year, they collaborated on Todd's debut D&B album "Resolutions".

A New York, USA-based DJ, Vega's career began at high school at the age of 18, after watching his friends spin records. He played high school parties before eventually establishing his own label. He went on to DJ at the Devil's Nest (regarded as the birthplace of the New York 'freestyle' approach, alongside TKA and Sa-Fire), then Hearthrob and 1018. By the time he had reached the 4,000 capacity Studio 54 Todd Terry passed Vega his new mixes to try out on the crowd. His first remix job was 'Running' by Information Society, then Noel's 'Silent Morning'. He even worked Debbie Gibson 's first record. He began his own-name productions with the instrumental 'Don't Tell Me' for SBK Records in 1989 and 'Keep On Pumpin' It Up' (as Freestyle Orchestra), before signing to CBS Records' subsidiary WTG Records with Latin singer Marc Anthony. He had previously been commissioned to write songs for the movie East Side Story, where he first met the singer. Together they hooked up for a Latin R&B flavoured album and single, 'Ride On The Rhythm', a huge club hit. He also worked with India, his girlfriend, and Todd Terry for the latter's 'Todd's Message'. Together with Barbara Tucker, Vega instigated the Underground Network Club in New York (he has also produced 'Beautiful People' for Tucker). Despite this background as an established house star, he is probably best known now for his work alongside Kenny 'Dope' Gonzalez as half of the Masters At Work remix team. He is not to be confused with Chicago house veteran Lil' Louis, or, for that matter, with the Louie Vega who remixed for Lakim Shabazz, despite the fact that both shared the same management. Vega's most recent remix clients include Juliet Roberts and Urban Species.
